Forget France and Switzerland as the ski season has arrived at The Devonshire in Balham. Dust off your snow boots, leave your poles at the door and immerse yourself in the ski chalet wonderland complete with off-piste parties! The festive season might soon be over but that doesn’t mean the winter fun has to stop!
There’s no need to ascend the Alps to start a chalet party, with five covered and heated chalets, and plenty of packages available, the season of hot toddies and fondue can continue! Packages for 10 begin at just £4.45 per person and include a round of apres-ski-inspired shots with a choice of Jäger or homemade toffee vodka. Upgrade with choices from the winter Slope Shack cheese fondue, and urns of mulled wine or rum punch. After trekking across the mountains of south west London to get to Balham Peaks, add an activity to the fun too; gin tastings and cocktail masterclasses can all be incorporated into your own bespoke package.
If all that imaginary skiing has built up an appetite, tuck into delicious dishes from the Slope Shack with dishes like Ogleshield Raclette or the loaded superdog with sides of curly fries with melted Ogleshield cheese topping.
If you’re going to make it back down the mountain without going off-piste, you’ll likely need a visit to the Thirst Aid Point first where The Devonshire’s own homemade recipes await. Mulled wine and Aspall mulled cider are second to none whilst a Winter Negroni or The Nutcracker Espresso Martini will get you in the chalet spirit.
